ETERNITY (13:29) An excellent video/preaching worth watching

Our destiny in Christ. Just what is it? What does that mean? First off, let it be known and understood that Jesus came to save any and all who choose to believe in Him. It doesn't matter what nationality, race, creed, color, previous religious views, none of that matters. Jesus is the Savior to all who believe in Him as the one and only Son of God, that He came to this world in human form to defeat evil, and defeated death by being resurrected. Another thing that we all need to acknowledge as certain truth, that God loves us (His creation) beyond what we can even begin to imagine. There are no words in any language on this planet to accurately describe the true depth of His love for us sinners. Our lives on this earth have been filled with pain, anger, sorrow, strife, confusion, disappointment, depression, disease, disabilities, anything and everything evil that can distort our true vision of just how deeply love can go. Simply put, God loves us more than any human being is capable of understanding, let alone showing to another human. He (Yahweh) sent his one and only son Jesus to die for us, as the purest sacrifice possible, to rescue us from our impure hearts. Never did the Messiah Jesus sin, even though He was fully human and faced with the same temptations us normal humans continually give in to. Never was he tempted to give in to sin. He died as a virgin to all things of this world, pure in every way. His sacrifice was the sacrifice to end all blood sacrifices.

Before continuing on, if you're not a true believer, or are on the fringe of belief and disbelief, take a moment to read this article regarding several world-renowned individuals who took the resurrection of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago, and put it to the test of legal evidence. This is a must-read for anyone on the fringe, or if you just feel like you want to reaffirm your faith in the Lord. Read this before continuing on: http://www.av1611.org/resur.html
There is also a very worthy DVD that you will want to rent of buy called: "The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel.

For the record, not to mess around with Mr. Lucado's beautiful works here, but I changed all Biblical scripture references to the King James Version of those references. It is my personal opinion that the King James Version of the Holy Bible is the only true Truth, aside from the original Hebrew, Arabic and Greek texts.
This excerpt was written by Max Lucado - "The Gift For All People"
Max Lucado is a renowned author on the Bible and the gifts God has given us in His Word.
I've chosen this because Mr. Lucado can describe God's Gift to us much more thoroughly and better than I can. Please read on and enjoy the message of God's Destiny For Your Life, Available To Anyone Who Accepts Him...
†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††
I can remember, as a 7-year old, going to my grandparents' house for a week. Mom and Dad bought a ticket, gave me some spending money, put me on a Greyhound bus, and told me not to talk to strangers or get off the bus until I saw my grandma out the window. They made it very clear to me that my destination was Ralls, Texas.
God has done the same for you. He has placed you on a journey. He has a destiny for your life (and you'll be glad to know it's not Ralls, Texas.)
| For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation
through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 |
According to the Bible, God's destiny for your life is salvation. Your intended destination is heaven. God has done exactly what my parents did. He has purchased our passage. He has equipped us for the journey. God loves you so much that he wants you to be with him forever.
The choice, however, is up to you. Even though he stands at the door with a ticket paid and pocket money for the trip, many choose to go in other directions than the one God intends. That is our problem.
Our Problem: Sin (We're on the wrong bus.)
When my parents gave me the ticket and told me which bus to board, I believed them and did what they said. I trusted them. I knew they loved me and I knew they knew more than I did...so I got on board.
Becoming a Christian is getting on board with Christ. Jesus stands at the door of the bus and says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). Unfortunately, not all accept his invitation. I know I didn't the first time he invited. I spent some time on the wrong bus.
There are many buses, each of them promising to take you to happiness. There are the buses of pleasure, possessions, power, passion. I saw a bus called party and got on board. It was bull of people laughing and carousing; they seemed to be enjoying a nonstop party. It was quite some time before I learned they had to be loud to cover up all the pain inside.
The word for getting on the wrong bus is sin. Sin is when we say, "I'll go my way instead of God's way." Right in the middle of the word sin is the word I. Sin is when we say, I'll do what I want, no matter what God says. Only God can fulfill our needs. Sin is the act of going to everyone but God for what only God can give. Am I the only one who has spent time on the wrong bus? No. Some buses are more violent than others. Some rides are more lengthy than other, but:
| All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have
turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him
the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6 |
| If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 |
| Therefore by the deeds of the
law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the
law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 |
To board the wrong bus is a serious mistake. Sin breaks our relationship with God. We were intended to journey with him. But when we are on a different bus headed the wrong direction, we feel far from God. This is why life can seem so cruddy. We aren't fulfilling our destiny.
Sin not only breaks our relationship with God; it hamper our relationship with others. Can you imagine taking a long trip to the wrong place with a busload of people? With time, everyone gets cranky. Nobody like the trip. The journey is miserable.
We try to cope with the problems by therapy or recreation or prescriptions. But nothing helps. the Bible says:
| There is a way that seemeth right
unto a man, but
end thereof are the ways in death. Proverbs 16:25 |
You see, the end result of sin is death...spiritual death. "The wages of sin," Paul writes, "is death..." (Romans 6:23)
Spend a lifetime on the wrong bus headed in the wrong direction and you'll end up in the wrong place. You'll end up in hell. Not because God wants you in hell. His plan for you is heaven. Your destiny is heaven. He'll do anything to get you to heaven, with one exception. There is one thing he won't do. He won't force you. The decision is yours. But he has done everything else. Let me show you what I mean.
THE SOLUTION: GRACE (Go to the right bus.)
If the problem is sin and all have sinned, what can I do? Well, you can go to church, but that won't make you a Christian. Just as going to a rodeo doesn't make you a cowboy, going to church doesn't make you a Christian. You could work hard to please God. You could do a lot of good stuff, give away a lot of things...the only problem with that is that you don't know how many good things you have to do. Or you could compare yourself with other. "I may be bad, but at least I'm better than Hitler." The problem with comparisons is that other people aren't the standard; God is.
So what are you going to do? If you aren't saved by going to church or doing good works or comparing yourself to others, how are you saved? The answer is simple: go to the right bus.
| For God so loved the world that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not
perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 |
Note what God did: "He gave his only Son." This is how he dealt with your sin. Imagine it this way: Suppose you are found guilty of a crime. You are in a courtroom in front of the judge and he sentences you to death for your crime. His sentence is just. You are guilty and the punishment for your crime is death. But suppose that the judge is your father. He knows the law; he knows that your crime demands a death. But he knows love; he knows that he loves you too much to let you die. So in a wonderful act of love he steps down from the bench and removes his robe and stands by your side and says, "I'm going to die in your place."
This is what God did for you. The wages of sin is death. Heaven's justice demands a death for your sin. Heaven's love, however, can't bear to see you die. So here is what God did. He stood and removed his heavenly robes. He came to earth to tell us that he would die for us. He would be our Savior. And that is what he did.
| For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew
no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 |
THE RESPONSE: TRUST (Getting on the right bus.)
What does God want you to do? He wants you to get on his bus. How is this done? Three simple steps: admit, agree, accept.
Admit that God has not been first place in your life and ask him to forgive your sins.
| If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 |
Agree that Jesus did to pay for your sins and that he rose from the dead and is alive today.
| That if thou shall confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 |
| Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 |
Accept God's free gift of salvation. Don't try to earn it.
| For by grace are ye saved by faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the
gift of God: Not of works, lest any man
should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 |
| But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of
the will of the flesh, nor of the will
of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 |
| Behold, I stand at the door, and
knock: if any man hear my voice, and
open the door, I will come into him, and
will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 |
With all of my heart, I urge you to accept God's destiny for your life. I urge you to get on board with Christ. According to the Bible, "Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. We must be saved through him" (Acts 4:12)
Would you let him save you? This is the most important decision you will ever make. Why don't you give your heart to him right now? Admit your need. Agree with this work. Accept his gift. Go to God in prayer and tell him, "I am a sinner in need of grace. I believe that Jesus died for me on the cross. I accept your offer of salvation." It's a simple prayer with eternal results.
Once you've placed your faith in Christ, I urge you to take three steps. You'll find them easy to remember. Just think of these three words (they each start with b): baptism, Bible, and belong.
Baptism demonstrates and celebrates our decision to follow Jesus. Our immersion into water symbolizes our immersion into God's grace. Just as water cleanses the body, so grace cleanses the soul. Jesus said, "Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16). When the apostle Paul became a believer, he was asked this question: "Now, why wait any longer? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, trusting in him to save you" (Acts 22:16). Paul responded by being baptized immediately. You can, too.
Bible reading brings us face-to-face with God. God reveals himself to us through his Word by the Holy Spirit. "Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly" (Colossians 3:16).
Belonging to a church reinforces your faith. A Christian without a church is like a baseball player without a team or a soldier without an army. You aren't strong enough to survive alone. "You should not stay away from the church meetings as some are in the habit of doing, but you should meet together and encourage each other" (Hebrews 10:25).
These three steps - baptism, Bible reading, and belonging to a church - are essential steps in your faith.
I pray that you'll accept this great gift of salvation. Believe me, this is not only the most important decision you'll ever make; it's the greatest decision you'll ever make. There's no higher treasure than God's gift of salvation. It's God's wonderful destiny for your life.
The above excerpt was written by Max Lucado - "The Gift For All People"
Max Lucado is a renowned author on the Bible and the gifts God has given us in His Word.
†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††
I couldn't have said it better myself, so I
didn't even try. Max Lucado has written a
lot of books regarding God, Jesus, and
Christianity, many of which our family owns. We
use them often during our family Bible study
times, or singularly with a personal study. The
point being, he's written to every age group and
he's got something that rings true to all of our
kids, and we have 9 from ages 19 down to 22
months (the twins are still exempt from getting
much out of books). Any Christian book store
will have many books of his to choose from, and
regular book stores should also still have a
decent amount to choose from.
So the final paragraph that he wrote is very
powerful isn't it? Choosing God and Jesus is not
only the most important decision of your life,
it's the greatest decision you'll ever make.
These are confusing times and there's a lot
going on worldwide to distract us from Him,
which is also why it's so critical that you come
to know Jesus as soon as you possibly can. You
don't want to miss the boat (The Rapture) and be
stuck here during the Tribulation.
I was driving down the freeway today and a
thought occurred to me, "What if the rapture
were to happen right this minute, as I'm driving
on this crowded freeway at 60 MPH?". Then an
even worse thought came across my mind, "What if
I were left behind? What if I were to miss the
rapture and got killed trying to navigate
through an insane maze of driverless cars?".
That thought prompted me to want to take extra
care when I pray, when I read, when I think, to
do my best to ensure I'm walking as Christlike
as I possibly can. Not only do I treasure the
idea of going to Heaven, but I am terrified by
the idea of going to hell. I watched the "23
Minutes In Hell" video on our videos page within
this site and I believe every word that Bill
Wiese says in his description of what hell was
like. I don't want any part of that place,
nor do you.
